This year, I participated in the McEntyre Project, which is a special Visual Arts and Literature educational initiative. The project happens every year in collaboration with the Visual Arts Centre and local schools. The finale is a vernissage at the Victoria Hall Gallery in Westmount, QC.
This year, the theme was “Finding Yourself”. You can read more about it in the exhibition text, which I took a photo of at the Vernissage.
I worked with the very sweet and creative grade 3 boys at Selwyn house where we had a lot of fun brainstorming the theme of identity. We talked about dreams, hobbies, favourite foods, family, and so much more before cracking out the pencils, paint, and collage material to realize their individual visions. I love this age group for their spontaneity and passion.
